We started Little Adventure Shop in 2008, shortly after our first child was born. We had been searching high and low for a buoyancy aid that would fit our daughter in order that we could take out her on the river Thames in the canoe. We quickly realised that finding decent outdoor equipment and clothing for children was incredibly difficult. Most shops would stock a single item, in one colour and one size. Often, the shop assistant would know little or nothing about taking children into the outdoors.

From that initial foray Little Adventure Shop was born, with the aim of providing the most comprehensive range of quality children’s outdoor clothing and equipment in the UK. We are passionate about being outdoors: we climb, we cycle, we walk and we paddle, all with our children  From this, we’ve learnt what works (and what doesn’t!). We believe that with a small amount of the right equipment and clothing, you can have a fantastic, fun time with kids regardless of the sport or the weather.

We’re a small family company, based in the Chiltern hills of South Oxfordshire. We all have young children and spend a lot of time outdoors (when we’re not packing orders..!), so we’re always available on the phone or email to help. We don’t have a call centre, or pushy sales people, just a simple phone line that will get straight through to one of us, for help, advice or simply to swap stories!

We care greatly about looking after our customers; we shop on the web too. We know how difficult it can be choosing the right size or colour. Our customers tell us that we’re ‘different’ from other websites: helpful, flexible and friendly, always there to take a call. We hope you find this too.
