Outdoor Hula Hula Method

Outdoor Hula Hula Method

The Outdoor Hula Hoop method is an outdoor learning method created by The Muddy Puddle Teacher and is a super versatile method.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t involve you hula hooping around but more using the hoops flat on the floor to help categorise and sort concepts to help guide children’s understanding.

An example could be that the children are learning about solids, liquids and gases and the teacher has laid out hoops that say these words.  Scattered around the outdoor space are cones and on them, they have words on and are either a solid, liquid or gas.  The children then dash around their big space finding a word and putting it into the correct hoop. The cones can be written off using a chalk pen and wiped off after.
