Mrs Foley, Headteacher, Furneux Pelham Primary School – INSET Day Training
An excellent day of training
‘An excellent day of training. I feel really inspired to try out all the ideas that you have given me. Can’t wait to set up our outdoor classroom now.’
Whole School Training
We are all in-class teachers at The Muddy Puddle Teacher ® and we know that time is stretched already and for Outdoor Learning to work, it needs to be as quickly set up as it is inside the classroom, outside.
Before we were even a company, we were Forest School leaders and teachers in schools. We worked hard at ensuring we had an outdoor learning approach that gave our teachers everything they needed to create rich, purposeful lessons that were easy to set up and worked in all weathers.
The Muddy Puddle Teacher Approach does precisely that!
We provide options for all settings and all budgets.
- INSET Day training for up to 20 people. If you have more, chat with us and we can discuss options. *This is our most popular programme. Dates go fast and we often work a year ahead with bookings.
- Twilight evenings.
- Online Whole School Training – completed in house.
We are determined that your setting will succeed. This is why we know it is essential that your staff gain the skills and inspiration from our training and have our innovative lesson plans, ideas, and materials to take their learning outside in any season easily! This is why with all options the resources come free.
Step One: Staff are upskilled and inspired through our Muddy Puddle Teacher Training.
Step Two: Staff have access to hundreds of resources to have ideas at hand, continue gaining experience, and save them time.
On a daily basis, we experiment with new ideas and upload new materials.
Monthly we add new training materials online.
INSET DAY Training on The Muddy Puddle Teacher Approach
(Levels 1-4) – Most Popular
Our INSET days are powerfully inspiring as well as critically practical. As teachers, we know that we often attend the most inspiring training sessions but realise we have no time to put it in place. We have addressed all of that and balanced the day perfectly with time inside, inspiring outdoor learning and seeing what a Muddy Puddle Lesson looks like from the introduction to the plenary.
KS2, we have you covered! Where lower down school we encourage more practical learning with whole lesson ideas outside. We need to ensure the depth of content is covered. For this key stage, we will suggest a slightly different approach we call the outside-in approach to help them balance the quality of content with powerful learning outcomes.
Not all curriculum areas will benefit the child’s learning from going outside, but there are plenty that does.

Online Whole School Training
This is a popular option for schools on a budget or our International Schools. Your whole school will be given 1 years of access to our online training and resources. The online training is a like-for-like programme to our face to face training and is completed in-house. It is interactive, easy, and fun to complete with audiobooks, quizzes, games, videos, and images. We get great feedback from the training! Take a look.
